PTFA

Welcome to the PTFA page, where we will keep you updated on forthcoming events, monies raised and what it is spent on!

What is a PTFA?

Our 'Parents, Teachers and Friends Association' is committed to supporting the school, children and staff. We raise money to buy those little extras for the children and for the bigger projects, like the Infants Play Area and the new iPads.

Who are the members of the PTFA?

Every parent and employee of the school is automatically a member of the PTFA. All members are welcome to attend any of our meetings. We are led by a Committee, consisting of a Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer together with a number of people who do not have a designated role, but who agree to be members of the committee. We are a friendly, enthusiastic and informal group!

When are the meetings?

The PTFA AGM (Annual General Meeting) is held in the Autumn Term. We then hold informal meetings either in The Club in Newnham or at School. These start at 7pm and last roughly one to one and a half hours. We discuss upcoming events and fundraising ideas amid a great deal of laughter!

What have we done for you lately?

We have recently held our Armoury Hall teas, coffees and cakes with Nicky and her team raising a total of £45.70. Thank you to everyone who helped.

We ran a Parents Gift shop for the children to make a present for £1. This raised £70 and all the children seemed very pleased with their efforts!

Finally in this half term we held our Grand Christmas Hamper Raffle with 12 lovely prizes. This raised an amazing £571.50 (before the cost of the tickets had been deducted).

Father Christmas delivered some lovely presents to every child in the school on Thursday 15th December helped along by the PTFA and your generous donations.

Thank you to everyone who has helped and supported us - a fantastic fundraising effort with £687.20 being banked!

We have held our Armoury Hall teas and cakes with a Bring and Buy on the 28th January which was highly successful! Thank you to everyone who supported this.

We held the Children's Games night on the 24th February. It was well supported with lots of helpers and children and everyone had a fun evening with £150 raised too! Well done everyone!

We made Mother's Day keyrings with the children in the week before Mothers Day which was very successful. This raised £54.

We held our Armoury Hall Teas/ Coffees and cakes - thanks again to Nicky Moscrop and her team for all their hard work. We made a fantastic £74.20.

Also, the Armoury Hall Café have donated an amazing £100 to the PTFA towards the School project. Many thanks for their support!

The Church held a concert and kindly allowed us to do the refreshments raising £55.38.

Finally we held our Easter Tombola and everyone seemed to have a lovely time! In a frantic twenty minutes we made a wonderful £148.30!!

In the last couple of weeks we have banked a tremendous £431.88! Thank you so much to the PTFA team of volunteers who donate their time, ideas and cakes and of course, to you all for coming along, having a fun time and supporting us as well! Lets see what the Summer term brings.......

What does the money get used for?
Our new project is to support fundraising for the school development plan and due to the success of our fundraising this year, we have already been able to contribute £1950 towards to work in the Reception class area and we have bought an educational, colourful new rug for the new classroom.
