Welcome to the PTFA page, where we will keep you updated on forthcoming events, monies raised and what it is spent on!
What is a PTFA?
Our 'Parents, Teachers and Friends Association' is committed to supporting the school, children and staff. We raise money to buy those little extras for the children and for the bigger projects, like the Infants Play Area and the new iPads.
Who are the members of the PTFA?
Every parent and employee of the school is automatically a member of the PTFA. All members are welcome to attend any of our meetings. We are led by a Committee, consisting of a Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer together with a number of people who do not have a designated role, but who agree to be members of the committee. We are a friendly, enthusiastic and informal group!
When are the meetings?
The PTFA AGM (Annual General Meeting) is held in the Autumn Term. We then hold informal meetings at School. These start at 6pm and last roughly one to one and a half hours. We discuss upcoming events and fundraising ideas amid a great deal of laughter!
What have we done for you lately?
September 2017 to July 2018
Over the last year we have raised almost £3000 with your invaluable help and support.
We raised £595.55 from the Armoury Hall Teas/Coffees and Cakes throughout the year, £183.50 from our Easter Raffle and activities, £522 from our Christmas Raffle, £19.50 from the Church Christmas Fair, £238.20 from donations and a massive £874 from our School Lottery! (This is an ongoing fundraiser where friends and family can also sign up. Fingers crossed that it is one of our parents that win the big countrywide prize!)
We have had fun at all our events and it is satisfying to know that we have helped to enrich our children's experiences at School. Thank you everyone - let's continue our good work into the new school year.
8th September - We held our first Armoury Hall Teas/Coffees and Cakes of the new term. Once again, it was well supported by our local community. Thanks to everyone who donated cakes, came along on the morning or who manned the kitchen!
What does the money get used for?
September 2017 to July 2018
Our new project is to support fundraising for the school development plan and due to the success of our fundraising this year, we have already been able to contribute £1950 towards to work in the Reception class area and we have bought an educational, colourful new rug for the new classroom.
We are currently raising money towards the spiritual garden mosaic, as well as putting money aside for our £500 contribution to the whole school summer trip. We have also recently had a request for help towards water/painting aprons for the infants.
We are currently discussing a new fundraising project with the staff. If anyone has any ideas, please share them with Mrs Rachel Rand or Mrs Jones. Thank you.
On the 10th November we will be holding our next tea/coffee and cakes at the Armoury Hall. Please come along and join us or donate some cakes for us to sell.
7th December is our non-school uniform day in exchange for a luxury hamper item.
How do I get involved?
New ideas are always welcome, as are volunteers to help at any event or donations for our various stalls. Please feel free to have a chat with any of the Committee Members or come along to any meeting to offer your support - you will be made welcome at any time!
