Lunch is a time children enjoy together. Most pupils remain in school at lunchtime although they may go home if the family wishes. They need to be signed out from the office and should not normally return to school before 1.00pm when they must be signed in. This is for health and safety reasons.
Hot school lunches are provided by Age Concern and are free to children in the Infant classes. Alternatively you can provide your child with a packed lunch—but no glass containers . We would ask that you select packed lunch contents carefully and, wherever possible, avoid foods high in fat or sugar. Sweets and chocolate, in particular, should be avoided.
Free School Meals
We encourage parents/carers who may be entitled to claim free school meals, to register their entitlement even if they do not intend to claim, as this can affect school funding. Please contact the benefits team at the Local Authority on telephone number 01452 425390/425434 or e-mail email@example.com You can find out more about free school meals by following the link.
The government provides fresh or dried fruit to all of our infant pupils. Junior pupils may bring fruit or vegetables to school to eat during morning break.
